A 50-year-old woman riding a scooter on Thursday sustained grievous injuries after her two-wheeler was hit by a car belonging to Sandalwood star Pooja Gandhi. The woman, Varsha Sahani, a resident of Banashankari III Stage, has been admitted to the ICU of a private hospital.
Sahani was on her way to a relative's house in Yediyur, off Jayanagar.Pooja, who had come there with her father on some personal work, was returning home when their car hit Sahani's scooter. Pooja herself took Sahani to the hospital.
"Eyewitnesses said Pooja was driving the car, while her father claimed it was their driver who was at the wheel.As there are no CCTV cameras at the accident spot, we are waiting for Sahani to recover to take her statement," a Jayanagar traffic police officer said.
Sahani's brother Deepak lodged a complaint with police, who have booked a case of negligence.
