Mood Indigo, the annual cultural festival of IIT Bombay, announced on their Facebook page on Monday, October 27, that Christopher Nolan will be attending their festival, creating massive hysteria among the director's diehard fans across India.
However, doubts have now been raised over his appearance at the fest, billed as one of the largest cultural festivals in Asia. Hollywoodreporter.com has quoted a representative of the star director to report that he is unaware of the event slated for December 28, and has no plans to attend it. But the same article says that Nolan will be honoured by IIT Bombay at their cultural fest.
So, will Nolan actually arrive in Mumbai or will he make an appearance via satellite link? Or is it just one big confusion between organisers of the festival and Nolan's team? There is no clarity in this matter at present. The official page of Mood Indigo has also not put out any clarification.
The 2013 edition of Mood Indigo witnessed a footfall of more than 1,04,000 students from more than 1,500 colleges from across the country. The festival was started in 1971 by a group of enthusiastic IITians and Mood Indigo is now in its 44th edition, according to entries on Wikipedia.
All IIT Bombay students and Nolan fans from across India will certainly hope that theInsterstellar director does make it to India.
