| The Kannada film industry, often criticized for not responding seriously to local issues, has reportedly decided to organize its annual Karnataka Rajyotsava celebrations at Belgaum city. Belgaum, the border town, is always in news and more so recently due to clashes between villagers of Yellur and police regarding a nameboard in Marathi which had claimed that the village belonged to Maharashtra. Local authorities have taken off the board due to a high court directive but it has once again reignited the decades-old border dispute between the state of Karnataka and Maharashtra. |
