Let’s know about this new change …

(1)If your Aadhaar number is linked to the Universal Account Number (UAN) of EPFO, then you will not be able to claim offline for withdrawal of provident fund. The Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has refused to accept the offline claim in such a case.

(2) If you understand in simple words, your Aadhaar is linked to UAN, then you have to claim online to get PF. According to Regional Commissioner NK Singh, the EPFO has taken this decision due to the increasing cases of offline claims in the field office.

(3) Why EPFO took this decision- A circular has been issued by EPFO in this regard. Companies were claiming such members in bulk through physical form, whose basis is linked to UAN. Due to this, the burden of force in the field office was increasing.

(4) It also delays claim settlement. In such cases, companies will not accept offline claim and companies have been advised to use the online claim service platform.

(5) Setel will be online claim – EPFO circular states that if a member files a claim both online and offline, only the online claim will be settled.

(6) How to submit an online claim – To submit an online claim, you will have to go to the EPFO website http://www.epfindia.com/site_en/. Here you will see the option of online claim. Https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/ link will open on clicking online claim option.

(6) Here the member will have to feed his universal account number ie UAN and password. After this, there will be an option to submit a claim. After this the withdrawal form will not have to be submitted to the company.

(7) Important things – There is no need to submit PF withdrawal form in the company to get PF. After the online claim is made, the field officer will automatically verify the claim. For this, it is necessary that your KYC should be completed on the Unified Portal.
