Karnataka: Finish enrolling students for 2020-21, says govt

The Karnataka state government has asked all schools to enroll students for the academic year 2020-21. It has also asked to prepare an enrollment list by the end of September. The order issued by the Department of State Public Instructions Commissions has directed this order in order to ensure there are no drop-outs in the schools this year.

The order read, “The enrollment process should be completed by September 30 and the list should be published in the government portal. The schools can collect the first installment fee from the parents and the school fee should not be increased from last year’s fee of the school.”

The order further stated, “With the fee collected, the teachers and the staff of the school should be paid their dues as a first round of release of the payment. The schools should ensure that the teachers are paid and there should not be any complaints on the same issue.”

The Private School Managements have objected to this order stating that the government has not cleared its Right to Education (RTE) admission dues and are presssurising the schools to pay up for teachers.
