Online Portal for school admissions receives 25,000 applications

After facing difficulties during the admission process of their kids, two men had launched an online application portal – Intelliadmissions – where schools could sell and accept admission forms, and parents could apply for admissions online without standing in long queues.

That was two years ago. During this period, the portal has gone from strength to strength, with the number of participating schools going from 17 to over 40. Kevin Saldanha and his friend Ronald D'Souza launched the platform in Mumbai in 2015. The common admission platform enables parents to login to one portal and apply to multiple schools. It caters to all grades, from Nursery to Standard IX, and its automated dashboard and online services make it very easy for schools to process the applications.
Academic year 2016-17 saw the participation of over 40 schools from Mumbai, Goa, Baroda, Pune and Kolhapur and the portal received over 25,000 applications. The list of schools includes names such as St Andrew's High School, St Mary's ICSE and Convent of Jesus & Mary High School-Kharghar. The parents need to pay form fees and admission fees only after the form has been accepted by the school.
Talking about the initiative, Saldanha said, "We went through the pain of standing in long queues for admission forms. Then me and my friend D'Souza decided to come up with an online portal that could be used by schools as well as parents during the admission process . It (www.intelliadmissions.org) is a world-class platform, offering the best of global practices with a local flavor. Parents require only a mobile number to register and help screens provide support in English, Hindi, Gujarati and Marathi. Schools can also track the progress of applications via a mobile app."
Sr. Pearl Anne, principal of the Apostolic Carmel High School in Bandra, said, "We have been using the Intelliadmission platform for the last 2 years. It has amazing efficiency. The whole process of managing applications as well as communication online has simplified our work tremendously."
Echoing the sentiment, Fr. Magi Murzello, principal of St Andrew's High School in Bandra, said, "Our school also conducts online admissions with the help of Intelliadmissions. It has become much easier now then before. Earlier, parents used to come and stand outside the school early in the morning to take admission forms. Now communication with parents has also become easier through this portal."
