Micromax has on Saturday launched a new series of feature smartphones called “Joy.” The Joy X1800 and Joy X1850 are priced at Rs 699 and Rs 749 respectively. The talking point however is that the Indian smartphone vendor has used plastic pouches to package these phones.
As for the specifications, both the phones feature a 1.77-inch QQVGA (128×160 pixels) colour display, rear camera, expandable memory up to 4GB, FM Radio, flashlight, and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, and Bluetooth 3.0.
The differentiating factor between the two smartphones is the battery. The Joy X1800 features a 750mAh battery, while the Joy X1850 has a bigger 1,800mAh battery that the company claims is good enough for 7.5 hours of talk-time and 25 days on standby mode.
“We introduce products which offer great value to the consumers,” Vineet Taneja, CEO,Micromax said. “With the launch of Joy series, we have taken a lead yet again by offering a unique combination of innovative packaging and great value through our offerings.”
