Sanjay Dutt requests for a 14 day furlough

Sanjay Dutt who is serving his five year jail term in Pune's Yerawada jail has requested for a 14 day furlough. The actor had previously applied for paroles and furloughs ever since he was jailed in May 2013.

In the last one year that is from May 2013 to May 2014, Sanjay has spent around 118 days out of jail, either on parole or furlough.

The leniency shown towards the Bollywood actor has been questioned time and again. Even Bombay High Court raised questions against it earlier this year.

Sanjay has been jailed for illegal possession of arms in the 1993 serial blasts case. He had applied for a furlough in September last year to get treatments done on his injured leg. The furlough was extended for another 14 days. Again in December last year, he requested for a 30-day parole which was granted to him as he had cited his wife's ill health to be the major reason for the same.
