Rajinikanth's wife faces fraud charge

Actor Rajinikanth, who is awaiting the release of Lingaa — which is produced by Sandalwood's Rockline Venkatesh — appears to be dealing with a crisis at the moment.

Recently, a complaint is said to have been registered by an Ad Bureau Advertising Pvt. Ltd, saying that Rajinikanth's wife latha and producer J Murali Manohar cheated the firm after agreeing to give them the TN distribution rights of the recently released animation movie Kochadaiyaan.

Apparently, the TN lease rights of the film were sold to the agency by Murali and guaranteed by Latha Rajinikanth. Apparently, the same company has also purchased the distribution rights of Lingaa, which is Rajini's next release.

"While we have been patient in giving time to the borrowers for repayment of the dues, the intention of willfully defrauding us has now become evident. The director of Kochadaiyaan, Soundarya Rajinikanth Ashwin, has become CEO of Eros. The whole act has been cleverly orchestrated and indicates a white collar fraud owing to breach of contract and trust," the complainant is said to have mentioned.

However, Murali has been reported to have said that Ad Bureau — the company that levelled the charges — had agreed to loan them `33 crore and then failed to deliver. "That was the loan that Latha Rajinikanth signed a guarantee note for. They gave us a loan of `10 crore and she was not involved in that transaction. This is a malicious attempt to involve her in a transaction involving two private limited companies and is for the purpose of extraction," he is said to have added.
