While you may be left wondering, how can that happen with none of the films hitting the theatres, here's how Rajinikath raced ahead of Aamir Khan in the big race. No, its not about the box office numbers or the budget. It's about the number of screens allotted to each film.
At a time when Rajinikanth's magnum opus Lingaa is alted to hit the screens on December 12, Aamir Khan follows suit with his ambitious project PK releasing a week later. But in a battle of screens, it seems Rajini has overtaken our Mr Perfectionist by a small margin.
Rajinikanth's Lingaa is expected to open huge with a screen count of around 5500 whereas Aamir's PK will release in around 4500-5000 screens all over the world. The Rajinikanth -Sonakshi Sinha starrer will have a bombastic opening in US, UK, and Malaysia circuits and the film is likely to cash in on Rajinikanth's star power.
On the other hand, PK is expected to bring in a tsunami at the box office with the excitement and the anticipation that's building up with each passing day. While Aamir and the entire team has remain tight lipped about the film's content, the makers have made sure that the curiosity and the mystery about it remains constant. Hence, PK is definitely looking to bring in bumper box office figures as well.
But as for now, when it comes to the number of screens, Rajinikanth has definitely overtaken Aamir and how!
