Passengers create ruckus after Jet Airways serves chicken pattice to vegetarians

The staff on board a Mumbai-Jaipur Jet Airways flight had to face the burnt of irate passengers after the vegetarians among them were allegedly served chicken pattice on Saturday. After landing at Jaipur, the angry passengers created such a ruckus that the airline staff had to call in CISF personnel to salvage the situation.

Later, it came to light that the catering company which supplies the meal had put wrong stickers on the box, which created confusion among the crew members while distributing the meals. The passengers reportedly created a ruckus during the flight as well as on landing at Jaipur airport, asking for written apology from Jet Airways management as it had hurt their religious sentiments. The airline staff had to call up CISF in order to control the situation.

Sources said many of the vegetarian passengers who ate the chicken pattice vomitted in the aircraft.

Meanwhile, the airline has issued a statement, saying: "Jet Airways follows stringent methods for the selection of its caterers that meet all the criteria established by world-class airlines. As a customer-centric airline, Jet Airways endeavours to take all appropriate steps to ensure service excellence. Jet Airways is internally investigating the matter and will communicate the findings directly to the guests. Such instances are indeed extremely rare and Jet Airways sincerely regrets the inconvenience caused to its guests."
