Bollywood celebrities and their common connection!

These actors are constantly pitted against one another. And they've even made different choices and life decisions but look closer and you find that they share eerily similar traits. Here's a lowdown...

Shraddha Kapoor and Alia Bhatt
PYTs Alia and Shraddha are both from filmi families. Their filmi forays were a few years apart - Shraddha in 2010 with the bombed Teen Patti and Alia with Student Of The Year. It was with their subsequent releases that they began being taken seriously as actors. Aashiqui 2 for the Kapoor girl after Luv Ka The End and Alia with Highway. Both have impressed critics with their choice of films. They both sing - Alia began with Sooha Saha in Highway, followed by Samjhawan in HSKD. Shraddha sang the unplugged version of Galliyan in Ek Villain and Do Jahaan in Haider. What's more, both Alia and Shraddha was in contention for the sequel of Rock On 2, which the female lead is likely to sing all the songs, just like Farhan Akhtar did in the first part!
Arjun Kapoor and Varun Dhawan
Both star sons started out as assistant directors - Arjun in Kal Ho Naa Ho and Varun in My Name Is Khan. Neither was launched by their filmmaker dads. Arjun's launchpad was YRF's Ishaqzaade while Varun debuted in KJo's Student Of The Year - both films released in 2012. The films were chalk and cheese, but had a similar outcome - both boys became overnight stars. Only then, did their paps work with them - David directed Varun in Main Tera Hero and Boney has produced Tevar for Arjun. Varun said in an interview, "Arjun is like an elder brother to me, he is family and I have no competition with him, I can compete with anyone but not Arjun Kapoor." The 'brothers' will most likely be cast together in a film directed by Rohit Shetty. Salman Khan has a special fondness for both boys because of his association with their fathers.
Sonakshi Sinha and Parineeti Chopra
Neither girl wanted to be an actress. Parineeti, Priyanka Chopra's cousin, was working as a PR consultant in YRF while Sonakshi despite being a star kid – Shatrughan Sinha's daughter - was happy with fashion designing. Both had to be nudged into becoming actresses. While Pari was signed by the very company she was promoting, Sona was launched by Salman Khan in Dabangg - but only after she shed at least 30 kgs. The two girls are constantly under the scanner for their size. Both have battled weight issues since entering the industry, which thrives on hiring fashionably thin actresses. Both are found lacking by the fashion police, when it comes to sartorial sense. Last, but not the least, both the actresses were linked to Ranveer Singh with whom they have co-starred!
Sonam Kapoor and Ranveer Singh
Name the look and they nail it. In fact, at the 10th anniversary celebration of fashion guru Tommy Hilfiger in India, Sonam and Ranveer were the only two Bolly actors among the special guests! That says a lot about the two youngsters who never shy away from experimenting with their look and styling on screen or off-screen. Both are known for their bold choices when it comes to dressing. She is undoubtedly the uncrowned Fashionista among Bollywood divas. Ranveer, is the only actor who can rock floral shirts and trousers. Love or loathe it, you can't ignore his choices when it comes to dressing. And you know what, these two fashion icons are cousins! Sonam's mother Sunita Kapoor and Ranveer's father Jagjit Singh Bhavnani are closely related.
Aditya Roy Kapur – Ayushmann Khurrana
They started out as VJs of rival channels – Aditya hosted shows on Channel V while Ayushmann was an MTV discovery – a Roadies winner. While Aditya started out with small role in London Dreams, while Ayushmann got his big screen debut with Vicky Donor. The two boys have another shared passion besides acting and VJing - music. Adi can strum a guitar and wants to come out with his own album. Ayushmann sings and composes music and has already released a few singles.
Esha Gupta and Mallika Sherawat
Apart from the obvious physical attributes, both Esha and Mallika are out of town girls. They both started out as models. Esha in beauty pageants and Malli in commercials. Esha, a Bhatt protégée, debuted with Jannat 2, while Mallika's popularity soared after Murder, produced by the Bhatts. Mallika did a Chinese film The Myth with Jackie Chan and a Hollywood flick Hisss. Now, Esha Gupta is all set to star in a Indo-British project.
