PM Narendra Modi expects fruitful cooperation from opposition; praises them for positive role played in last session

Winter session of Parliament beginning today is all set to be a contentious affair with several Opposition parties deciding to oppose the insurance bill and corner the government on black money issue. Left parties, Trinamool Congress, JD(U), RJD, Samajwadi Party and BSP have decided to make a common cause against the insurance bill and asked the Congress to support them for the "larger Opposition unity".

Ahead of winter session of Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoped that the session will be fruitful and praised positive role played by opposition in smooth functioning of Parliament in last session. 
Narendra Modi said, "Just like the last session, I expect the same cooperation this time too. The winter session of the Parliament is starting today, good work for the nation will happen in a cool state of mind."
He further added, " People have given us the huge mandate of running the government, but everyone who sits in the Parliament has this responsibility of running the nation."
However, Rajya Sabha was adjourned for the day after condoling death of sitting member and former minister Murli Deora. Also Lok Sabha was adjourned after condoling death of sitting members Hemendra Chandra Singh and Kapil Krishna Thakur. 
The government will move 37 new Bills for introduction and taking up pending Bills for consideration and passing during the Winter session of Parliament. New bills to be introduced include Coal Mines (Special Provisions) Ordinance 2014, amendments to theArbitration and Conciliation Act, Motor Vehicles Act, Negotiable Instruments Act, Textile Undertakings (Nationalisation) Laws (Amendment and Validation) Ordinance 2014.
