intellectual director Mani Ratnam who had many blockbuster movies to his credit has been through hard phase with series of flops in recent times. His much anticipated films like Ravan (2010) and Kadali (2012)were disasters at the box-office. A while ago, there was news that he will be doing a multi-starrer with Mahesh Babu, Aishwarya Rai and Nagarjuna for his next. Unfortunately nothing has materialized. He is to do a bilingual under Dharma Productions with Tamil Superstar Dhanush and Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt which will go on sets by mid of 2015.
Meanwhile the genius director has taken up a project with Malayalam actor Dulquer Salman, son of veteran actor Mammooty as the main lead. Nithya Menon is playing the female lead in this film. The film is said to be a remake of Mani directed Mauna Ragam (1986). The film is titled as Okay Kanmani. Speaking about the film, Nithya Menion said that she the film will be an amazing love story. The shooting of the film is going on full swing and it will be wrapped up within December. Ace cinematographer P.C.Sreeram has joined Mani Ratnam after a long gap for this film. Music is composed by Oscar winner A.R.Rahman.
