Search engine giant Google joined the global wave of mourning for the passing away of Australian batsman Phillip Hughes with a simple, beautiful gesture.
Hughes passed away on Thursday after succumbing to injuries he endured from a bouncer that hit him during a Sheffield Shield match at the SCG on Tuesday.
As news of Hughes' passing spread across the internet on Thursday, Sydney father Paul Taylor placed his cricket bat at his front door as a 'mark of respect' and tweeted the image using the hashtag '#putoutyourbats', which prompted countless people to show their respect by posting pictures of their own cricket bats, News.com.au reported.
Google also took the hint from the tweets and showed their tribute in a simple, poignant way. The search engine added one small image of a lone cricket bat leaning against a wall to its landing page, the report added.
