Google has celebrated the 150th birth anniversary of French artist Henri de Toulouse Lautrec with its doodle.
According to the Independent, the post-Impressionist, who had died due to alcohol abuse and venereal disease only at the age of just 37, was one of the most celebrated characters of La Belle Epoque.
Lautrec, whose legs had stopped growing when he was a child and hence stood at 1.54m (5ft 1in), had painted as a series of famous posters for Paris' Moulin Rougeclub, and was known for his wild social life and constant visits to the brothels.
As per Toulouse-Lautrec Foundation's website, the late artist "shared the lives of the women who made him their confidant, painting and drawing them at work and at leisure."
The website added that it was Lautrec's favourite model, a red-haired prostitute known as Rosa la Rouge, from whom he was believed to have contracted syphilis.
