eBay has put its international products on sale and unlike the Big Billion Day sale by Flipkart, will offer a guarantee on all products bought by Indians in the upto 80% sale category. For the gamers major titles like Lords of the Fallen, The Evil Within, Watch Dogs, Company of Heroes 2 & Civilization: Beyond Earth have discounts ranging from 40 to 75% on Steam.
"Some of the most hardcore members of the gaming community are between the age of 17 and 25 and usually cannot buy games themselves without borrowing money from their parents. This sale puts games as low as 4 USD or Rs250, allowing them to buy multiple games. The developers benefit a large amount from these kinds of players getting access to games because they talk about games, build encyclopedias and fan fiction around them which in effect forms one of the most effective methods of marketing today," said Akhilesh Maitra, Game Developer at a Ragnarok Emulation Software, rAthena
"It's a big time for gamers in India. The prices are low enough that even the average middle class, can afford to get access to some of the best games in the world. I know a lot of people that are going to be looking to buy this years major releases like last months release, Lords of the Fallen for 50% off. Digital distribution makes this sale accessible to anybody, anywhere," said Chinmay Parikh, a gamer and engineering student.
