DoE directs schools to not let their buses disrupt traffic in Delhi

Taking note of complaints made by the Delhi traffic police, the directorate of education has directed schools to ensure that boarding and alighting of kids from school buses don't disrupt traffic in the area or lead to accidents.

Private unaided schools have been instructed to bring the buses into the school compound and also park them on campus.

"All the heads of schools/managers of private unaided recognized schools are hereby directed accordingly to make necessary arrangements for boarding and alighting of the students inside the school premises /compound. In no case the boarding and alighting of the students will be allowed to be done on the road in front or the side of the school," said a circular issued on November 12.

It further added, "school managements shall make necessary arrangements for parking the school buses inside the school premises. In case it is not possible to park such vehicles inside the school campus, the buses must be parked in such a way so that it does not create any traffic problem for other vehicles/ road users and ensure the safety of children."
