On that day, Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott will host a dinner for PM Narendra Modi. The dinner will happen in MCG, place of many memorable tussle between India and Australia. According to media reports, in the gala dinner famous cricketers from both Australia and India have been invited. There will be a galaxy of stars and top politicians from Australia who will also grace the function.
According to media reports, past and present Australian players will be in full attendance. Primarily it is known that Greg Chappell, Steve Waugh, Mark Waugh, Shane Warne, Brett Lee have got invitation. Many top Indian players have also been invited. According to MEA, Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar and Laxman have already received invitation and have confirmed participation. Sachin Tendulkar has also been invited but he has not given his consent for the programme so far. According to reports, Sachin has an pre-decided event in Kolkata on November 18. But as a Rajya Sabha MP Sachin may very well decide to go to Australia, as a cultural ambassador of the country.
