The Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo stated that the three-time World Cup winner was suffering from clinical instability before he was transferred.
Initial reports had suggested Pele, admitted on Monday for the second time this month, was in intensive care for medical treatment.
However, Pele tweeted that he was simply relocated to a special room within the hospital for privacy purposes only. He further said that while he appreciates all who paid a visit, he really needs to continue his treatment and recovery in peace, the BBC reported.
Pele also said he is looking forward to spend his vacations with his family and aims to start the New Year with renewed health.
Widely regarded as the finest player to play the game, Pele had an operation to removekidney stones earlier this month.
Pele won three World Cups as a player and has been named Football Player of the Century by FIFA, Athlete of the Century by the International Olympic Committee and a national treasure by Brazilian government.
