Bollywood’s ‘number game’ is ephemeral for Katrina Kaif

Actors are very self-involved. A lot of times, they just want to better themselves and their work, rather than stress about comparisons with other actors," says the 30-year-old, who is often compared to her contemporaries like Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra.

The ‘numbers game’ in the industry, Katrina feels, is only temporary, and it changes perceptions with every film a star delivers. According to her, actors should use these perceptions to better themselves. "For instance, if in a certain year, your film hasn’t released, then there’s no reason to stress. But if you have had a release and your performance could have been better, then go and have a chat with yourself in the mirror or with your director, and say, ‘Let me try and improve my work and do better’," says Katrina, who reveals that after all this while in this industry, she has matured as a person, too.

"You are still passionate about your work, but after a while, you also start focusing on other facets of your life," she says.
