The State has planned measures for promoting inclusive growth through innovation including long term policies for industrial and infrastructuredevelopment, beginning this year.
The State is also set to introduce mobile governance, making available all major services to users on their fingertips including filing of IT returns was part of the government's emphasis on inclusive innovation, evidenced by its plans to even enable a farmer to switch on his motor pump through a SMS.
Chief Minister Siddramiah speaking at the 10th India Innovation Summit, under the aegis of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) said his government would soon launch a new industrial policy covering a five-year-period from this year. "The updated 2014-19 policy would create a robust framework for industries while taking into account the rapid changes that the state has been witnessing" chief minister said.
Formulating the all important industrial and infrastructure policies would aid both the existing and prospective companies in the State while encouraging investment,Siddaramaiah added.
Mentioning the government's commitment to further develop the IT sector, crucial for bringing innovation back into the picture, Siddramiah said "Karnataka industrial policy covering IT, ITeS, Innovation and Incentives, will make the State, and Bangalore in particular, the most preferred destination for global investment. The attractiveness of Bangalore as an investment destination was evident by the fact that more than 300 of Fortune 500 companies were housed in the IT capital".
