Dr. Rajkumar memorial will be inaugurated on November 29th. The news was announced by Committee Head and Minister Roshan Baig. The ceremony will be attended by some of the biggest superstars in the country. Amitabh Bachchan, Rajinikanth and Chiranjeevi are expected to attend the inauguration ceremony.
The minister announced that on November 29th the statue of Dr Rajkumar will be unveiled in the morning. This will be followed by a grand function in Palace grounds where cultural programs will be held. The minister also announced that Amitabh Bachchan, Rajinikanth, Chiranjeevi, Mammootty, Mohanlal, Kamal Haasan and other big stars will be the chief guests at the ceremony. Rebel Star Ambareesh will be representing the Sandalwood during the gala ceremony. A committee has been formed which will be headed by Minister Roshan Baig and KFCC president D Gangaraju.
The committee will take the responsibility of conducting the Cultural program. The minister said, "The memorial has been developed at a cost of Rs 7 crore and government is committed to offering all the support and funds further required for the project". The work on the memorial was under the supervision of government and the family of the late thespian. Apart from the bronze statue, the memorial will also have several other features.
Director/Writer Baragur Ramachandrappa said that an open air auditorium, mini-water body and museum dedicated exclusively for Dr. Rajkumar and his career will be a part of the memorial. The memorial has been built after much delay. Hope this move by the government will finally bring smiles on the face of the Dr. Rajkumar fans.
