Whenever a mobile carrier wants to roll out a new version of the firmware or operating system, some of them start to move in the direction of a soak test – which is, to release the firmware update to an extremely limited number of users, so that they will be able to be the proverbial guinea pigs, so to speak, prior to a major release. Having said that, the Moto X handset from Sprint looks set to be the next in line to pick up the Android 4.4.4 KitKat update, since a soak test for it has already been discovered.
